New Pompano Beach Fishing Village Opening 2016

Pompano Beach Fishing Village locationReal progress is underway now in September 2015 towards the future Pompano Beach Fishing Village garage as construction has begun on the new parking garage on the 4.2 acre site. The new garage is expected to be completed in July 2016 with 663 parking spaces,  a net gain of 348 spaces from the previous parking lot. The new garage will be 55 feet tall with a top floor open to the sky with generous amounts of rooftop greenery. There will also be a NEW on-site Tourism and Welcome Center. Additionally, there will be 7,000 sq. ft. of retail space on the ground floor of the new garage.

The Fishing Village project is on the former site of the municipal pier parking lot located between A1A and the beach between NE 2nd and NE 3rd St. The site will be split among 3 parcels with the Northwest parcel containing the parking garage in the space of the old firehouse and the East parcel to be developed directly on the beach. So far, two new custom-built beachfront restaurants,  Pompano Beach House and Oceanic Dining, have signed on as the dining and entertainment anchors for the Pompano Beach Fishing Village. Both restaurants are expected to open next fall, after the completion of the parking garage.

The new Pompano Beach Fishing Village will be a new tourist destination in our neighborhood. When completed, the village will span more than six oceanfront acres, feature 48,000-square-feet of retail space, and will include a unique pedestrian promenade — officially dubbed Pier Street — a route that will be used to link the Pompano Beach fishing pier to the Intracoastal Waterway. There are also plans to introduce a new intracoastal Water Taxi service on the west end of the new Pier Street.

The ongoing development in Pompano Beach, both commercial as well as residential, is going to very positively transform the landscape of our beachfront neighborhood. Stay tuned for more updates!
