The successful beach and streetscape renovations and the forthcoming Pompano Beach Fishing Village are all helping to spark a very encouraging upswing in both commercial and residential development in our Plaza at Oceanside neighborhood. Here are some of the updates…
Pompano Beach Fishing Village Is Coming!
The Harbor Village Improvement project has revitalized the area. The $4 million project has improved lighting, buried utilities, built new building facades, added new signage, and improved landscaping along East Atlantic Blvd. The project has created a pleasant ambiance, is powered and a pedestrian friendly retail/restaurant destination. Retail activity continues to pick up along the East Atlantic Blvd corridor with 13 new businesses opening along the corridor in the last year such as 5 Girls Burgers, Cafe Brie, Christina’s and Uncle Louie G’s . The vibrant activity at the Harbor Village, which is now almost 100% full, will also be getting a major new anchor restaurant on the corner of the east end in just a few weeks when The Foundry opens for business.
Interior construction is almost complete on the new gastropub, The Foundry, at the eastern corner of Harbor Village across from Houston’s. The lights are on, the signage is up, this powered, and the kitchen is ready, Painting and fixtures are being done now. The wood fired pizza oven is in place and the raw bar is now being constructed. This exciting new restaurant project is expected to be complete later this month with the opening tentatively scheduled for November 10.
The 26 Degree Brewing Company is open! 26 Degree received its building permit last December and finished the work on the interior at its location at 2600 East Atlantic Blvd at the former Winn Dixie store on the south side of Atlantic Blvd last month. The 21,000 square foot brewery has a 4,000 square foot tasting area with eight flat screens to enjoy the games. 26 Degree Brewing Company had it’s opening day celebration on Friday Sep. 17.
Madison’s Restaurant will be coming to the Intracoastal parcel located on the corner of Atlantic Blvd. and South Riverside Drive. In addition, there will be a Greek seafood restaurant built just adjacent to Madison’s. The vacant lot just east of this Intracoastal parcel will be used for parking for the two new restaurants and a new commercial/retail space.
